TLDR

  • Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held a Provincial Nominee Program-only Express Entry draw on June 22, 2026, issuing 995 invitations to apply with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score of 730.

  • The round, listed as draw #419, was the first Express Entry draw since a late-May sequence that included PNP, Canadian Experience Class, and French-language rounds.

  • IRCC's ministerial instructions say Express Entry rounds are normally held about every two weeks and can be general, program-specific, or category-based.

  • Candidates waiting on Canadian Experience Class or French-language draws did not receive invitations in this round.

IRCC issued 995 invitations to apply to Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates on June 22, ending a gap in Express Entry activity that stretched back to late May, according to CanadaVisa's draw-results page.

The round, numbered draw #419, carried a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 730. That floor is consistent with PNP-only draws, where the 600-point nomination boost pushes scores well above what general or program-specific rounds typically require.

What happened in late May

CanadaVisa's 2026 results page shows three consecutive draws in the days before the pause. On May 26, IRCC held a PNP-only round (draw #416). A Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draw followed on May 27 (#417), and a French-language-proficiency draw was held on May 28 (#418). The next listed round after that cluster was the June 22 PNP draw.

That roughly 25-day stretch between draws is longer than the usual cadence. IRCC's ministerial instructions page says rounds are normally held about every two weeks and can take one of several forms: general rounds open to all eligible candidates, program-specific rounds targeting a single stream, or category-based rounds focused on attributes like language ability or work experience.

How Express Entry works

Express Entry is the federal system IRCC uses to manage permanent-residence applications through the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the CEC, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program. Candidates enter a pool and receive a CRS score based on factors like age, education, language ability, and work experience. Those with a provincial or territorial nomination receive an additional 600 CRS points, which is why PNP-only rounds consistently post minimum scores above 700.

During each draw, IRCC sets a cutoff score and invitation count. Candidates at or above the cutoff receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence.

What this means for you

If you hold a provincial nomination and had an active Express Entry profile on June 22, check your account for an invitation. With a CRS floor of 730, only candidates carrying the 600-point PNP boost were in range for this round.

  • CEC and French-language candidates: The most recent draws for those streams were May 27 and May 28 respectively. This round did not include you, but the late-May pattern shows IRCC was running targeted draws across multiple streams before the pause.

  • All Express Entry candidates: Keep your profile current and your documents up to date. IRCC does not announce draw types in advance, so the next round could target a different stream or open to all programs.

  • Candidates considering a provincial nomination: The 600-point CRS boost continues to make PNP a strong path to an invitation. Check your eligibility with individual provincial programs if you haven't already.
