In December 2024, it will be 24 years since the Eritrean-Ethiopian War (also known as the Badme War) was halted by a ceasefire agreement signed on June 18, 2000.
The conflict left tens of thousands dead or injured, permanently damaged family relationships on both sides, and led to massive displacement of women, children, and entire communities. Its aftermath left many stories untold.
Samuel Habte's story is one of them.
