Hey hey,
I am late with this newsletter as I was flying about the time I usually publish.
I travelled to Toronto for the first time. And gosh, the energy is so different from Calgary. You’re probably like first time? Yea, first time, my friend.
I’ve passed through the Pearson airport twice but never gone into the city. The first time when me and the family landed in Canada. The second time when we moved from Ottawa to Calgary.
But the traffic though…Lagos trauma all over again.
In today’s newsletter: Sweta Regmi thinks it’s dangerous to figure it out alone.

It’s dangerous to figure it out alone as an immigrant

As Sweta puts it, "Watch out for folks who who project their own limitations onto you, like someone who tells you that making six figures is impossible."

Why does Canada’s system trap immigrant talent?
One of the sad things about Canada is it wastes the skills of immigrants, and surprisingly, returnees through its flawed credential recognition system.
Thousands of people troop past the borders and are told their qualifications are inadequate, their experience irrelevant, and their ambitions unrealistic.
