What does it mean to be an immigrant entrepreneur?
Everyone says being an entrepreneur is hard. Well, try starting a business in a country where you weren't born, in a language that isn't your first, with a social network you have had to build from scratch.
That's what it means to be an immigrant entrepreneur.
It's doing it despite the odds. It's being resilient. It's finding your why and using it as fuel to keep you going even when everything seems daunting.
It's building something more than yourself. It’s being RELENTLESS!
During the last Small Business Month (October 2024), we interviewed three immigrant entrepreneurs about what it means to be an immigrant entrepreneur. We are grateful to Frida Murillo, Kateryna Havrylova, and Jung Ha Choo (Kelly) for sharing their stories with us.
Shout out to the CCIS Newcomer Entrepreneur Program - Build Your Business for helping immigrants build successful businesses in Calgary, Alberta.
Thank you so much, Dozie, for your amazing support! You did a wonderful job capturing the stories of these three wonderful women and their journeys to starting a business in Canada.
It means a lot to see their hard work and success shared so beautifully.
